It's easy to believe a problem has been solved when we no longer have to look at it. But moving suffering out of sight has never made it disappear. A reflection on compassion, dignity, and the people we too often overlook.

Before he became "the man on the corner," he had a wife, a home, dreams, and a daughter who would never be born. Sometimes the people we overlook have lived lives far more familiar than we imagine.
