Burnout

I used to shine, so full of fire,

Fueled by hope and strong desire.

I took on every task with pride,

Certain I could match the tide.

The days grew long, the joy grew thin,

The noise outside crept deep within.

I smiled and worked, ignored the strain,

Until each day felt much the same.

I gave too much, forgot to rest,

Kept chasing goals, gave it my best.

Now I'm just tired, worn and slow,

A heavy heart with nowhere to go.

But deep inside, a spark remains,

A quiet light through all the rains.

And when I'm ready, I'll return,

With gentler steps and lessons learned.

I'll pause to breathe, I'll take it slow,

Make room for peace and let it grow.

I'll guard my time, protect my flame,

And rise again, but not the same.

A Moment to Reflect

Burnout isn't a sign that you have failed. More often, it's a sign that you carried more than you were ever meant to carry.

Take care of yourself by setting healthy boundaries, taking time to rest, breathe and just simply be. Protect the flame within you. It is not selfish.

It is how you will continue to light the way for yourself and for others.
