Let Love Start With You

Happy February. As we move into the month of love, let this be your reminder that you deserve care too. This is especially for the helpers, the givers, and the fixers. The ones who instinctively put others first, who notice what’s missing, and who step in without being asked.

Your compassion is a strength. Your willingness to show up matters. But it should not come at the cost of yourself. Loving yourself is not a reward you earn once everything is done. It is a foundation.

When you take care of yourself, you are not stepping back from who you are. You are protecting the part of you that allows you to keep going. Rest is not weakness. Boundaries are not failure. Saying no does not erase your kindness.

You cannot give from emptiness, and you are not meant to. Taking care of yourself does not mean you care less about others. It means you are choosing to care about yourself too. You are allowed to refill. You are allowed to choose yourself without guilt. Self-love is not selfish. It is how you stay whole.

This February, let love start with you. You are worthy of the same care, understanding, and compassion you give so freely to others. Honor your limits. When you love yourself well, you don’t

lose your ability to help. You strengthen it.

A Moment to Reflect

For those of us who naturally care for others, putting ourselves first can feel uncomfortable, even undeserved. Yet the kindness we offer the world becomes more sustainable when we extend that same grace inward.

What is one simple way you can show yourself the same kindness you so freely give to everyone else this month?
